It's fitting that my first post is on the first of November. But a more disconcerting fact is that it's raining... hard, has been since I woke up. Every single time it rains I'm reminded of Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms" and my ninth grade English class. We were going over symbolism in novels and how Hemingway used rain to symbolize death, despair and grief. But for me I always saw it as the bowels of human emotion, how far we'd go for the sake of love. Er, maybe I read too many romantic novels but to me "A Farewell to Arms" is one of the greatest love stories written along with "Wuthering Heights" and "Jane Eyre"
Anyway, back to rain and today's dreary weather, I could rally it as a metaphor for my life at this present moment, or I can use it as an excuse to make a big cup of bulletproof coffee
