Hi guys!
So first of all, this weekend was unexpectedly warm which had me very delighted. Only one thing could make my foodie heart rejoice more and that's, well, food. :)
So my other delight this weekend was hosting this wonderful get together sponsored by Rhodes Breads and through Tryazon. And even though the title says party, it was more of a pot luck/brunch. Nevertheless, it was still fun!
Let's start with Rhodes and a little of their background. They are a amazing brand I'm ashamed to say I never even knew about prior to this. They offer over 25 different bread varieties from traditional dinner rolls to cinnamon rolls to loaves, baguettes, biscuits and pizza dough! And in my party pack, I was given three coupons for free Rhodes products and $1 off coupons for my guests to enjoy (prices range from about $3 to $5).

Alright let's get to the fun part, me telling you all my delicious exploits. Now with my coupons I got three different varieties because I really wanted to explore the brand. They were the French Crusty Rolls, Traditional White Bread and our star for today, their Microwave Cinnamon Rolls.
These delicious beauties are so easy to make, that anyone from child to kitchen nightmare can get the hang of. It's really simple, just put your roll on a microwave safe plate, nuke it for 60 seconds, top with yummy icing and voila! But me being me, I'm going to give my step by step. Ready? Let the drooling begin. It's okay, no one is watching you, drool away. ;) |
First things first, the bag comes with six rolls and six packets of icing. For my brunch I made all six which means, yes, some people had to share....so sad.... But since they all went home with a coupon, I'm sure they're enjoying their very own cinnamon roll right now. Oh and since they're so quick and easy to make, I literally made it at the start of brunch, once everyone arrived with the kiddies helping me to make them.
Back to the prep, I put all six rolls on a wood trivet with about a half an inch of space between them to allow for rising.
These were lovingly put into a microwave, YES microwave, for 6 minutes (whereas 1 roll = 1 minute, 6 rolls = 6 minutes). This reminds of the cup cakes I've been making recently, but that's for another post.
When they came out, they were just begging to be eaten! But we had to ice them first, which we did. Icing was dripping everywhere so we had to put a plate under it!
